Electri-Cycle

2022
For our Earth Day 2022 celebration in downtown Fremont, the Code Hobbits booth was managed by Avni, Emma, & Simran, three amazing young ladies who demonstrated a project they built themselves after pitching their idea to potential funders.
The Electri-Cycle was born from their desire to show off how kinetic energy is converted into electricity. Below, Mayor Lily Mei takes the Electri-Cycle for a spin!
Student Reflection
"We really appreciate everyone who came and supported us and our project. We would like to give a special thanks to Tri-City Ecology Center (TCEC) for partially funding our project, LEAF and Code Hobbits for partnering with us and providing us with this opportunity."
Avni
"After the pitch ended I was proud of myself and my team. This made me feel accomplished of everyone and our work. I had so many emotions during this process as we had to wait for an answer. The next day, I got an email with the good news. We got the grant!?"
Emma
"As the day went on, my nervousness died down. I had interacted with many people and explained why we built the electri-cycle. I also had become more smooth with talking to the people who came and were getting people interested in our project."
